We enjoyed a fantastic and well thought-out snowshoe venture with Paul on the Vermilion Pass. We were impressed with the depth of his knowledge and his sense of humour.

We are already planning our next venture with Paul. We'll see if he's as funny without his snowshoes!

I had a conference in Kannanakis (K-country) and had just an afternoon to explore the beauty of all the mountains and peaks in that part of Canada. After searching on Google, I came across 3 guides, after interviewing all 3, I decided to go with Paul Sylvestre. My objective was to maximize the 4 - 5 hours I had before my conference commenced while being outdoors and getting a true feel for this area. I wanted to hike up and see as much as possible. I was a bit skeptical as to how we would spend the time and what i would see/experience.
Paul exceeded my expectations. He was punctual, he picked me up, we went directly to the mountain to begin our ascend. Paul was extremely knowledgable and is an experienced hiker. He had with him all the essentials - first aid kit, blister kit, all the hardware and equipment; including a backpack for me with everything I needed. it was a fun hike, he is a fun person to be around. I would recommend Paul to anyone looking for any type of outdoor activity in and around the Banff region. I will next time I am there, do a longer hike and take advantage of his services.
Please contact me via email if you have ANY specific questions.
Thanks Paul for making the highlight of my trip to Canada from Cleveland, Ohio.

During our stay in Banff, Paul and Eva were our Hiking Guides. I would like to thank them for making the visit fun and memorable. I am in debt to both of your knowledge of Banff. You showed genuine love of the Rockies.

I’ve done a lot of cross-country and alpine skiing so I didn’t really “get” the appeal of snowshoeing until I joined Paul and Eva for a guided tromp through the woods on the Continental Divide. Within moments we were breaking trail through old growth forests, across lakes and up spines of rock that gave us remarkable views. We saw numerous animal tracks plus learned loads about the local flora and fauna and the natural history of this stunning area. Unlike other winter activities, snowshoeing gives you ample time to talk and connect with people and nature – Eva and Paul cater to both which is why we’ve decided to make it an annual event!

Paul and Eva, had a blast on your SNOWSHOEING expedition. I think it ranks higher than the icewalk from another company the next day. I have never laughed so hard in any tour before! I shall rebook you next time I visit Banff. Keep it up!

My wife and I spent a 3-week holiday in Banff in May 2009 to visit our children and we had the privilege and pleasure to meet Eva and Paul.
On a bright sunny day, we went snowshoeing at Sunshine Meadows with our children and grand son, and Paul was our guide for the day; and what a pleasure it was!
Paul is a really great guide who is very detail oriented and who is extremely knowledgeable about the mountains and the wildlife.
If you have the chance to visit the area, make sure to reserve a day to go hiking or snowshoeing with Paul or Eva. I can guarantee you that this day will be the best day of your holidays.

Warm greetings,
Christian and Yvonne from Quebec City (Canada)

Dear Paul,

Our hike with you was truly the highlight of our Canadian Rockies adventure! Your knowledge, wit and enthusiasm left us wishing for another day to hike with you. You created a hiking experience which was fun for all of us - twenty-somethings and fifty - somethings!

Thank you for the memories of our wonderful Larch Valley trip with you,

Betsy, Paul, Eliza and Daniel

Dear Paul

Just a few lines to thank you very much for a wonderful holiday (1st 2 weeks in July). I had a great time and much of the benefit and enjoyment is down to you and Dave and the hard work you both put into taking such good care of us as a group. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for you both. Your knowledge and enthusiasm and willingness to find out if you didn’t know were impressive and meant a lot to us. It has been an almost life-long ambition to visit the Canadian Rockies and to have been able to walk in such surroundings and see so much of the wildlife and learn a little about the history of the area means the reality was beyond my dreams of what it would be like in the Rockies!

Thanks too for being patient with me, an inexperienced walker. It was helpful – even essential – to learn some basic things about how to walk up and down hills! I think I may have the walking bug now as I can’t wait to get my walking boots on again!
Warm greetings
Chris

I was also on the holiday with Rachel Turner and I think she had said it all! Paul was an amazing guide with insight into the history, flora and fauna of the Rockies. I also went on a couple of "extensions" to the walks we did and really appreciated the opportunity to do so. My special thanks to him for an holiday to remember for ever. Hope to be back soon.

I've just returned from a 2 week holiday (June 2009) visiting Vancouver & hiking in the national parks of the Canadian Rockies, with Paul as guide for everyone of the 13 days. It was my 1st walking holiday ever & I cannot recommend him highly enough. He made the scary bits feel safer (there's a few steep mountains out there!), he was an awesome "spotter" of flowers & wildlife, a special treat being a high tech telescope that appeared regularly.

Paul relished sharing his knowledge of the area & it's inhabitants, & loved the challenge of finding answers to oddball questions...would you believe you can access the internet on top of the mountains?? well he had the technology to do it

Utterly professional & a pleasure to be with...thankyou Paul

Not just your standard « walk in the park » ...!

Hiking with Paul and Eva in Banff National Park last fall was a rich experience filled with knowledge, experience, energy and great humour !

Their attention to detail allowed us to discover and understand so many
« behind the scene » aspects we would have missed for sure otherwise.

Thank you for making us « feel » the Rocky Mountains rather than just seeing them !

We will return again this summer

Thanks Paul for tailoring this snowshoeing tour to our family’s ability and leading us to such amazing discoveries. Now we understand the true meaning of “Winter Wonderland” ! The use of your “top of the line” equipment really opened our eyes on how much the sport has evolved and how much easier it has become to travel in various types of terrain and conditions !

Our hike up to the lookout on Castle Mountain was so much fun! Everyone in the family enjoyed our day with you and Eva. Thanks for checking out the trail conditions a day or two beforehand. Your choice of Castle Mountain was perfect - what a view! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Best of luck to you both.
